DEVELOPERS RUNNING AMOK IN OUR SUBURBS:-

BIG BUSINESS AND THEIR PAID POLITICIANS UNRESTRAINED

BUT WHAT ABOUT A SAY FOR RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY THESE EXPLOITERS?

Citizens across Victoria are now being exposed to the effects of unfettered exploitation under the guise of “development”, repeatedly referred to in the media as “progress” and for economic activity.

No locality is immune from the consequences of so-called “developers”. Residents amenity; quality of life matters; the heritage and the history of a region; conservation and other environmental aspects, all mean nothing to these exploiters and speculators scrambling for $$.

Residents are also becoming aware that the VCAT system of adjudication, set up by Liberal/Labor politicians to make rulings on residents' complaints, is effectively a developers' rubber stamp. Objections based on traffic congestion, neighbourhood character issues, overuse, water limitations, population density, visual, noise and other pollution, loss of natural light or view etc., are disregarded almost every time under the guise of “zoning and planning”, and outcomes favourable to developers occur ad nauseam. Court cases are even more futile. This is the reality of the current “shamocracy”, where efforts by citizens to have a real say are a lost cause.

In the endeavour to empower citizens over the detrimental effects of developers, the root cause for their activity must be first examined. Once this “big picture” is realised, action can take a whole new course. No wish list, no pointless distractions; no useless letters to politicians, or other waste of genuine people's time - just action that addresses concerns, and can achieve results in accord with residents' wishes.

And the “big picture” is what is now the “trinket sale” type economy of Australia, formed on exponential population growth driven by immigration, coupled with land and resources exploitation. The big business agenda, being faithfully implemented by the Liberal/Labor Parties, is to knock down/build bigger/dig it up/rip it out/dump more immigrants into our society.

Of course, inherent in this agenda is for our Australian manufacturing and industrial base, which underpins our independence and real wealth creation, to give way in favour of cheap imports from countries with cheap labour (primarily in Asia). The resultant economic vacuum is to be taken up by more exploitation of all and everything, just to make a dollar.

WHAT CAN BE DONE?

LIBERAL PARTY POLITICIANS WON'T HELP.
The Liberal Party is firmly under the direction of big business, well evidenced in the current push for Aussie worker disenfranchisement under their proposed industrial relations legislation; importing skilled and guest workers in preference to training Aussies, free trade zones, open borders, etc, etc.

Liberal politicians have also overseen business calls for the highest immigration in years - some 140,000 per annum, to support building industry demand. It is this resultant growth that is subjecting Aussies to disturbing changes in the ambience, and enjoyment of our urban lifestyle.

It is no surprise that the largest contributors of funds to the Liberal Party are developers.

As the Australian Conservation Foundation has made abundantly clear, our dry and mainly arid continent is unable to support even the existing population, and the environmental decline is readily apparent. But none of this is of any concern to Liberals, once they have their snouts in the taxpayers trough. Besides materialism and consumerism, they stand for nothing.

LABOR PARTY POLITICIANS WON'T HELP.
The ALP has accepted the exploiters' Melbourne 2030 plan, which expands widespread redevelopment of urban areas. This plan, which includes extensive multi-storey constructions, will change the face of Melbourne forever. The “high rise” is coming to your suburb - to overshadow your backyard!

It is no accident that Bracks and his cohorts parrot Liberal Party aims by repeatedly calling for a million more immigrants to be dumped into our suburbs.

The prospects for residents to object, and avoid the effects of this onslaught are zilch under present conditions - no, nothing can be expected from ALP politicians.

AUSTRALIA FIRST CAN HELP.
The Australia First Party, was founded in 1996 by Graeme Campbell, then Member of Parliament for Kalgoolie. This visionary of an Australian, has toiled tirelessly against de-industrialisation, and the resultant national decline inherent in a basic exploitive economy. Australia First has the vision, and policies to again create a wealth-producing nation of opportunity, where citizens are not plagued by speculators and exploiters pillaging our suburbs. This is underpinned by our core policy of Citizens Initiated Referenda [CIR], which binds political representatives to follow citizens' wishes, not those of the vested interests of big business. CIR, and associated residents' plebiscites, is the means for citizens to stop being lauded over by developers and their mouthpiece politicians, or an out of touch judiciary - it can stop them dead in their tracks!
